SheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus

SheaMoisture has officially launched in Walmart Canada stores and Walmart.ca ... yay! I’m a huge fan of the brand and have been for years, I actually would always buy it while in the US and bring it back to Canada. Those days are no more! I was so excited when the brand reached out to sponsor this post and asked me to chat about some of my favourite products from the SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus line.

SheaMoisture at Walmart Canada

SheaMoisture promises “safe and uncompromising beauty”, it’s formulated without parabens, mineral oil, DEA and phthalates just to name a few. The lack of harmful ingredients is such a bonus considering the products truly perform. The key ingredients in the Coconut & Hibiscus line are coconut oil, neem oil and silk protein. The price point is amazing too. If you have curly hair like myself, you can run through things like conditioner or curl definer pretty quick, and to have something so easily accessible and affordable to stock up on is a great!

SheaMoisture hits all the marks for me, great ingredients, affordable, available both instore and online at Walmart and everything smells so good. Let’s be honest, you can’t say the smell of a hair product hasn’t swayed you in the past.

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Shine Shampoo - For me and my curls, when it comes to shampoo I want something that’s going to leave my hair feeling clean but at the same time I don’t want my hair to feel stripped. This shampoo is formulated without sulfates which is great for curls and is formulated to moisturize and improve elasticity to reduce breakage and split ends.

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Shine Conditioner - This conditioner does a great job adding hydration but it also allows me to detangle. It’s light enough that I can use it often, but if I need an added boost for getting the knots out of my hair it adds enough slip to get the job done. It also helps to tame frizz and help define my curls.

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk - When it comes to leave-in’s for me I can find them to be too light, especially if I’ve just shampooed my hair. That’s why I love this one so much, it has a great thick texture but it’s not heavy and doesn’t weigh down my hair. I’ve also used this on second day curls to refresh or to add smoothness for a bun!

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie - I’m a huge fan of the Gel Souffle from this line so I was super curious to try the smoothie and I was pleasantly surprised. If you hate the look and feel of crunchy curls but don’t want to sacrifice curl definition this is for you my friend. I’m a wash-and-go, low maintenance curls kinda girl so I like that I can easily add this to wet curls and either leave to air-dry or diffuse (generally I do a combination of both) to get soft, bouncy curls!

If you were debating SheaMoisture, I highly recommend it! They have many different lines to suit whatever your hair needs are with more to come to Walmart Canada in the coming year. The price point, ingredients and most importantly, performance are incredible.

Urban Decay Naked Cherry vs Backtalk Palette

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette is the latest Naked palette to join the family! The pink, purple hues are pretty gorgeous but also remind me of the Urban Decay Backtalk palette so I thought I would do some swatch comparisons. Naked Cherry Dupe? Urban Decay Backtalk Palette

I really liked the Urban Decay Backtalk Palette, it was a nice not too cool not too warm palette that included shades for both the face and eyes. See it in use in this Instagram Tutorial. As you may be able to tell, the Backtalk and Cherry have similar vibes but are not completely the same. The cherry leans more burgundy and the Backtalk has some more taupe. 

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Dupe - Backtalk Palette 

If you are looking for something to travel with and the Backtalk has the variety you need for eyeshadow I think it's a great palette, it is however limited edition. The Cherry has a much wider variety of shades and is my preference because the more taupe shades are not the kind of thing I would personally reach for. That being said, I do love 3 of the 4 face shades in the Backtalk palette. 

Of course it's 100% up to you to decide which one is more valuable to you, but I don't think you need both. I feel like you can create very similar eye looks and more with the Cherry over the Backtalk. That being said, Backtalk has face options! You don't need both, but you still might want both .. depends how much of an Urban Decay/makeup junkie you are ;).

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Swatches

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette

On the heels of the news that the original Urban Decay Naked palette was being discontinued comes the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette! I don't want to speak ill of the dead but the Naked Cherry Palette is much more up my alley than the original palette. Stay tuned for a look on my YouTube Channel if you'd like to see it in action. 

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette

The Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette retails for $49 USD/$66CAD. It's live on the Urban Decay site right now but will be on sephora.ca and shoppersdrugmart.ca on October 5th and in-stores on October 15th. 

Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette

The Naked Cherry Palette contains 12 "never-before-picked neutrals" that have a vampy, cherry hue. I don't know that I would consider these neutrals but I do consider them really beautiful shades! At first when you think cherry you think red, but realistically cherry's have a lot more depth, and are a deep red, burgundy shade. There's also some nice complimentary peach shades and a good mix of mattes and shimmers. The only thing I'm really missing is a good inner corner shade something shimmery, perhaps gold, this was a shade I felt was also lacking in the Naked Heat. I could have also used a nice warm brown, just to help add variety. That being said, I do think you can a wide variety of looks with the palette but they are going to all be in that same color palette. 

Naked Cherry Palette Urban Decay

This is an unscented palette by the way, some may expect a scent but I couldn't detect anything. That being said, the All Nighter Setting Spray is coming in a cherry scent, so that sounds delightful! I also really like the brush that came with this palette, it's a little stiff so I need to use it more but the actual way it looks is super cute.

I still need to play around with this palette some more but I wanted to get my swatches up ASAP. When I saw that palette at first I wasn't totally sure but then when I was able to swatch and put it on my eyes I really like it so far. Dior BACKSTAGE Face and Body Foundation

Dior Face and Body Foundation recently launch and has gotten a lot of attention. It may have been the 40 shades or the fact that Dior always makes such great complexion products! Either way, I thought I would swatch the Dior next to some of my other foundations to hopefully help you find your shade.  Welcome to the Dior complexion family Dior BACKSTAGE Face and Body Foundation! Always excited to see a new complexion launch from Dior and this one got lots of hype - and with good reason. See my full review on my YouTube Channel. 

Dior Face and Body Foundation 4N

The Dior Face and Body Foundation retails for $40 USD/$50 CAD. The amazing thing about this foundation, albeit a high end price tag is that you get 1.6 fl oz which is more than double the size of the average foundation making it cheaper than the average foundation you'd find at Sephora! It also comes in 40 shades which is incredible, they make it fairly easy to find your shade when the undertones listed. 

Dior Face and Body Foundation Swatches/Shades

To help you find your shade, hopefully, I've swatched the Dior Face and Body next to the other Dior Foundations in my collection. The shade 4N is a good match for my summer post vacation colour but I think I'll need to go a shade down come winter.
