In my opinion, the drugstore has lacked quality highlighters for some time now but Maybelline has stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park. Why am I using sports metaphors, NO IDEA but it's a great highlighter! If you'd like to see it on my skin I was wearing it in a Drugstore Makeup Tutorial video on my YouTube channel.
Maybelline Molten Gold Highlighter
The Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter retails for around $10.99 CAD depending on where you pick it up, but it is permanent and available wherever Maybelline is sold. I have seen it in the permanent display but if you don't check the side displays for new products. It currently comes in only one shade, Molten Gold. If you have a medium to more deep skintone I think you'll love it (if you love gold highlights). I've also seen it work on more fair skin. According to Instagram sneak peaks, there should be new shades arriving in a few months.
Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter Swatch
The Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter in Molten Gold has a beautiful true gold colour, not leaning too yellow, orange or green. The texture reminds me of the gelee style highlighters that are out there but more powdery, not stiff at all. It has no glitter, just a really strong sheen to the skin. I highly recommend picking this up and can't wait to see what they release next! *Links are affiliate.
FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter
Fenty Beauty has absolutely taken over the beauty world these past weeks and with good reason. Not only does the ultra-celeb Rihanna have her name attached to it, but it sends a message of inclusivity in a beauty world that lacks it. Her foundation range has 40 shades with goals to double that. If you'd like to see a review and wear test on my oily skin of the Fenty Beauty Foundation check out my Fenty Beauty Foundation Wear Test on YouTube. You can also see the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter in action, which is what I'm chatting about today.
Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter Review
The Fenty Killawatt Highlighters come in 6 shades, 2 singles and 4 duos. These retail for $34USD/$42CAD at Sephora. I have the shade Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby which is described as a "soft champagne sheen / supercharged peachy champagne shimmer". The duos come with two complimentary shades, one that is more of a sheen and the other has a stronger shimmer.
Fenty Beauty Mean Money/Hu$tla BabyHighlighter
I really love that they did the split pan. I know everyone always seems to want to "glow to the Gods" and scream "YAHZ" every time they apply a highlight but it's nice to have something more subtle. The more sheen side of this highlight still gives a beautiful glow, would be great if you have more textured skin too. You'll see in the swatches it almost looks dull but on the skin it's beautiful!
Fenty Beauty Highlighter Mean Money Hustla Baby
I like to layer them, to add dimension on my skin. Adding Mean Money all over the top of the cheek, down the bridge of the nose, cupids bow and then go in with Hu$stla Baby in a more targeted way to add an intense glow. Some of the shades and swatches I've seen look like they have a lot of glitter but I didn't see anything in this while wearing it.
Fenty Beauty Highlighter Mean Money Hustla Baby Swatch
This photo makes all of these highlighters look like dead on Fenty Highlighter dupes. In my opinion they are not all as close as it seems. If you are not a complete makeup junkie then okay fine they are super similar. Estee Lauder Heat Wave is more a pure gold, Champagne Pop has that champagne beige, MAC Beaming Blush is the closest as it has the gold with pink undertones. Fenty Match Stix Truffle Review
Fenty Beauty Match Stix come in over 30 shades, both matte and shimmer. I tried the Fenty Beauty Matte Match Stick in Truffle, to use as a cream contour. I was never much into cream contour but I've since fallen in love with the stick format. These retail for $25 USD/$31 CAD at Sephora. As you can see, the packaging is gorgeous! Geometric, matte and a peachy nude. If you buy multiple of these sticks they are magnetic, I love that touch.
Fenty Beauty Truffle Match Stix
Fenty Truffle Match Stix Swatch
This shade at least, was a bit of a miss for me, it's not bad by any means but I just love my Wet n Wild Mega Glo Contour Stick, it blends more easily in my opinion and is just $5. That being said it does not have the shade range that Fenty Beauty does.
Lise Watier x Elle Weekender collection is an absolutely stunning new collection. It was inspired by taking time to slow down and enjoy yourself once the weekend rolls around.
This collection is limited edition available online and at lisewatier.com, beautyboutique.ca and Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques. Grab it quickly because the marble design will be enticing just about everyone who sees it. Especially with the rose gold details.
Lise Watier Elle Palette Weekender
Eyeshadow palette retails for $48. It contains 6 cool toned shades with a pop of blue. 3 shimmers and 3 mattes. The texture is incredibly soft but not powdery and really pigmented. These are not shades I would normally reach for but I really like the combination. "A new generation of eyeshadows with a creamy powder texture that is ultra-soft.
The harmony of colours with multiple finishes and the impeccable hold of this formula
allow for a luminous and neutral look."
Lise Watier Elle Lipstick retails for $25 and is probably my favourite part of the collection. Not only is the bullet gorgeous, the shade inside is too! "Formulated with the Maxi-Lip complex,
Rouge Gourmand visibly increases lip
volume and reduces the appearance of
fine lines and wrinkles. Its rich, creamy
and ultra-comfortable formula
moisturizes and softens lips".
Lise Watier Elle Waterproof eyeliner retails for $23 and is super unique! The rich brick burgundy is not often found in an eyeliner, perfect for fall! It has a really nice blendable texture. "This ultra-creamy eyeliner provides a
fine and precise application for intense
definition in one stroke. Thanks to its
waterproof formula, it guarantees an
impeccable result for 14 hours, with no
crease or transfer. A burgundy shade
that blends beautifully with
the eyeshadow palette." *This collection was sent for my review, all opinions are my own.

Fenty Beauty Foundation 330
Of course, not everyone is going to be able to find their perfect match, but I feel like Fenty has done a good job creating an actual range with many shades on both ends of the spectrum, and the middle! To help you find your shade I've swatched a few of my more popular and cult classic foundations. The best shade matches for me are the MAC and Kat Von D. Fenty Beauty Foundation 330 ends up quite warm on my I think I'll be exchanging for Fenty Beauty Foundation 310.

Rouge Dior Lipsticks Fall 2017
The Rouge Dior lipsticks are stunning, I've yet to try a dud. They are creamy, full of pigment and comfortable to wear no matter the finish. They have a slight floral lipstick scent but nothing overpowering and it doesn't linger for long. These lipsticks are limited edition on dior.com and Dior counters so move quick if they are of interest to you! The Maybelline City Mini Palettes are 6 pan eyeshadow palettes that Maybelline launched late last year. They retail for around $14.99 CAD depending on where you live or where you plan on picking them up. I'm wearing the Maybelline City Mini Downtown Sunrise Palette in this video.
Maybelline Mini Eyeshadow Palettes
The City Mini Palettes from Maybelline are quite mini, great for travel and who runs through a full shadow anyways?! They are about a third of the size product wise of the Maybelline Nudes Palettes. Overall, I'm happy with these shadows. Not blown away, you judge from the swatches! As with most drugstore palettes they do lack some mattes but overall the pigmentation and blendability is good. I always use a primer and apply the shimmers with my fingers. They are definitely less stiff than the Nudes Palettes in texture. These are the best eyeshadow palettes Maybelline has done so far!

Dior Fall 2017 Makeup - Magnetize and Hypnotize Eyeshadow Quads
The Dior Fall 2017 Eyeshadow Palettes retail for $62 and are available at dior.com, Nordstrom, and Holt Renfrew. The formula on these 2 palettes is not completely the same as the other Dior shadows I've tried. I find the mattes are more creamy and pigmented. Overall, I like the shadows, only downfall is the gold in the Hypnotize palette. I assume it's meant to be a glittery topper, I liked it in my inner corner but it had not actually colour. I wish it had a stronger base. Dior Magnetize 5 Couleur Eyeshadow"starts from an almost frosted grey to explore a cooler scheme ranging from platinum and silver to fiery charcoal"

Juvia's Place has very quickly become a highly sought after brand, thanks to Instagram, some highly influential YouTubers and some crazy pigmented shadows. When they launched the blush palettes I was super excited, I love blush and as a brand that caters to women of colour these caught my eye.
Juvia's Place Blush Palette Volume 2
I purchased the Juvia's Place Saharan Blush Palette Volume 2, it retails for $18 USD. I'm Canadian so of course I had to pay $9 shipping, total cost was $25 USD, not outrageous for a blush palette, especially because I hoped the quality would be great, just like their shadows.
Juvia's Place Blush Palette Swatches
Juvia's Place Blush Palette Volume 2 contains 6 shades, 4 mattes and 2 shimmers. All blendable and incredibly pigmented, use a light and and build to your desired look. My personal favourite is the shade Tao. Sola and Zoba make great blush toppers and all shades make great eyeshadows as well!
Dior Fall 2017 makeup collection has arrived! I'm always so excited for Dior makeup launches, there's always some exciting new things and extensions on old favourites. The Dior Metalizer Eyes and Lips Cream Shadow is some of the newness. See them in action in my Dior Fall 2017 Makeup Try-On Video.
Dior Metalizer Cream Shadow Review
The Dior Metalizers Cream Shadows come in 7 shades and retail for $25 USD. They have a soft, creamy formula with no glitter or chunks just a metallic finish. They are not full of pigment, but are not sheer either. I also make use of these in my video as a cream highlight and it works well. These are super versatile. The Dior Metalizer for Eyes and Lips are limited edition, so if you were curious to try I'd jump on it sooner than later!
Dior Metalizer Platine Fusion, Dior Metalizer Copper Power
"It's ultra-pigmented formula lights up eyes and lips with metallic shine. Inspired by professional makeup artistry and designed as an intuitive take-anywhere product, this ingenious tube houses metal-effect pigments encapsulated in an ultra-creamy, quick-drying texture with a weightless feel for lasting results." *These products were sent for my review, all opinions are my own. Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara aka. Givenchy Bendable Mascara. This mascara launched recently and has been added to Givenchy's extensive line of mascaras. It is incredibly unique, it's bendy! It bends at a 90 degree angle to help coat each lash for ease of use.
Givenchy Bendable Mascara Review
They Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara retails for $38 CAD on Sephora. It has a plastic bristle brush that is meant to define the lashes and create volume. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, it looks and feels incredibly luxe. It's formulated without parabens but has a very strong scent. One that lasts on the lashes, not exactly a positive point in my books.
Givenchy Bend Mascara
For me, it definitely defines the lashes and adds length but the volume thing is a stretch. It doesn't add the amount of volume that I prefer in a mascara. That being said, mascara is so subjective and what works for me may or may not work for you. I do like the brush and the "bendiness" of it, really allows me to tackle the inner and outer corners.
Givenchy Bendable Mascara Review
I do like the results, my lashes look great, long, feathery BUT I need more volume. If this didn't have a luxe price tag I could give it a pass but I have drugstore mascaras that give me the combination of volume and length I love. As I said though, mascara is so personal you could love it!

Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette
On August 30th, Too Faced launched the Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette. This preceded the rest if of the Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection launch on August 31st. I could not resist picking this palette up. PEACHY AND MATTE UM HELLO! If you'd like to see the palette in action I have a Too Faced Just Peachy Review/ 3 Looks 1 Palette going live on my YouTube Channel at 7am EST on September 4th.
Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette Review
The Too Faced Just Peachy Palette retails for $55CAD/$45 USD and contains 12 shades in some pretty gorgeous packaging. It has a very strong peach scent, more so than the Sweet Peach Palette, but it does not linger on the eyes once you've applied. All of the shades in the palette seem consistent in quality, however the shade "Peach Sangria" is not matte, it's a satin .. not sure why ... it's a gorgeous shade but this palette claims to have 12 matte shades. No biggie though. My only small qualm with the Too Faced Just Peachy Eyeshadow Palette are the shades "Peach Butter" and "Peach Meringue", they are perfectly fine cream shades with 2 different undertones. Problem being they look essentially the same if not the same on the eyes so it's a missed opportunity for another great peach variation.
Too Faced Peachy Matte Eyeshadow Palette Review
Overall I really like the Too Faced matte peach palette, the shades are beautiful, the selection is great and I think it's versatile even though it's matte. The shadows are not super powdery, but still pigmented and blend well. They all seem to hold their colour when on the eyes and blended together. Especially "Peaches and Cream" I expected that to blend away to nothing but not the case.
